It was written by members of the Task Force Soldier's Creed and first endorsed in its current form by incoming Army Chief of Staff Peter Schoomaker on 13 November 2003. The introduction of the Soldier's Creed launched the campaign known as 'Task Force Soldier'. This is leadership's commitment to soldiers, making sure they are ready for battle and embody the warrior ethos embodied in the Soldier's Creed.
It appears to have been discussed in Congress at a "Military Hearing" held by Senator John W. Warner on or about November 19, 2003.
